Mogo Media Academy Celebrates Its Inaugural Graduation Ceremony at BMICH
Mogo Media Academy proudly marked a historic milestone with its first-ever Graduation Ceremony, held on 4th June 2026 at the prestigious BMICH Lotus Hall. The event celebrated the academic achievements of over 130 students from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years, making it a memorable occasion for students, parents, educators, and industry professionals alike.
Graduates from the Diploma programmes in Animation, Game Development, Visual Effects (VFX), and Concept Art were awarded their diplomas in recognition of their dedication, creativity, and successful completion of their respective programmes. In addition, students who successfully completed the Professional Training in Radio Presenting (Tamil Medium) programme were presented with their certificates during the ceremony.
The event was graced by Senior Professor Mrs. Nilanthi R. De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, who attended as the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address. Her presence added great significance to the occasion as she shared valuable insights and words of encouragement with the graduates as they prepared to embark on their professional journeys.
The ceremony was also attended by the management of TV Derana, academic staff, industry professionals from the fields of animation, game development, visual effects, media, and broadcasting, as well as proud parents and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduates.
Apart from recognising academic completion, the graduation ceremony also celebrated students who demonstrated outstanding academic excellence, leadership, dedication, and all-round performance throughout their journey at the academy. Special recognition was given to students who actively contributed to extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including participation in academy events and leadership roles.
Two Valedictorian Medals were awarded to students who demonstrated exceptional academic and personal growth throughout their academic journey. The recipients were Faraj Hafleen (2024/2025 Academic Year) and Odini Yohansa (2025/2026 Academic Year).
The Best Student Awards for the Professional Training in Radio Presenting (Tamil Medium) programme were awarded to Stella Morina Gladwin (2025) and Sivabalasundaram Agilath Thivakaran (2026) in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Departmental medals were also awarded to top-performing students from each diploma programme:

- Animation Batch 2 – A. R. V. D. S. Wijayawickrama
- Concept Art Batch 1 – Jonathan Anandappa
- Game Development Batch 1 – Kananke Liyanage Thisara

- VFX Batch 1 – Eeffle Nanayakkara
